Instructions for Requesting Financial Assistance

Follow these steps to apply for financial aid from Hope Clinic:

  • FIRST, apply at the Department of Human Services for emergency assistance. If DHS can't pay the whole ammount, ask for a Decision Letter. You will need the Decision Letter at all the other agencies. 734-481-2000
  • SECOND, after receiving your Decision Letter, apply to other agencies:
    • Washtenaw County ETCS:

    • Salvation Army:
      Ypsilanti Residents: 9 S. Park St., Ypsilanti, 734-482-4700
      Ann Arbor Residents: 100 Arbana, Ann Arbor, 734-668-8353
    • SOS:
      114 N. River St., Ypsilanti, 734-484-4300
    • Parents Together:
      734-528-9199
    • Friends In Deed:
      734-484-4357, Tuesday - Friday, 9:30 a.m. to noon, telephone calls only: No Walk-Ins!
  • THIRD, check with your church or other organizations you belong to, to see if they can help.
  • FINALLY, come to the Hope Center, 518 Harriet St., Ypsilanti, and fill out a Financial Aid Request Form. Bring your ID, Decision Letter(s) from other agencies, and your shutoff notice.
